THE TWO-WAY BRIDGE
Every gift has
a place to go.
Online giving belongs in your books. Cash and checks belong in your giving history. Giving Bridge is built to help each record reach the right place.
Online gifts,
into your books.
Planning Center → QuickBooks
Eligible, successful card and bank gifts become gross donation sales receipts in QuickBooks, using the donor and fund mappings you approve.
The donor’s full gift stays intact. Processor fees remain a separate bookkeeping step.Cash and checks,
into giving history.
QuickBooks → Planning Center
Eligible cash and check sales receipts, plus supported payments applied to donation invoices, can be recorded in Planning Center under the matched donor and fund.
Combined bank deposits and ambiguous allocations stay outside automatic transfers.PEOPLE FIRST. PROFILES SECOND.
Different names.
The same person.
“Eleanor Bennett” in Planning Center. “E. Bennett” in QuickBooks. You confirm the first match; Giving Bridge remembers the two profile IDs for future gifts.
Similar names can help you look. They never make the decision for you.

Review both profiles, then confirm they belong to the same donor. A similar name alone is not enough.
Fictional records. This example does not connect an account or change any donation.
A CAREFUL START
Review first.
Build confidence as you go.
Start with a small, familiar set of gifts. Keep the decisions that matter in the hands of the people who know your church.
- 01 / CONNECT
Your accounts.
Your authorization.Connect the intended church and company. Choose a start date, payment methods, and where each fund belongs.
- 02 / CONFIRM
A place for
human judgment.Confirm donor matches and review the first transfers. Unmatched donors, changes, and uncertain outcomes wait for attention.
- 03 / CONTINUE
Less repetition.
A clear history.Reuse approved mappings. A transfer ledger records what was sent and helps you review exceptions before expanding automation.
Scheduled scans and automatic posting begin paused. They require deliberate setup and activation after the first workflow is verified.
GOOD BOOKKEEPING STILL MATTERS
A bridge for your records.
A partner to your process.
Giving Bridge records gifts that have already been received. It does not charge donors or move money between accounts.
Processing fees, bank payout reconciliation, refunds, and complex allocations remain with your bookkeeper. Clear boundaries keep the review focused.
What the pilot supportsA FEW GOOD QUESTIONS
Before you
build your bridge.
Can I use Giving Bridge today?
Giving Bridge is currently a private pilot. Existing authorized users can open their workspace. Public registration and paid subscriptions are not open; contact us if you would like to discuss future access.
Will it automatically match similar names?
No. You confirm which Planning Center donor and QuickBooks customer represent the same person. The app then saves their profile IDs so later name changes do not require the names to match exactly.
What helps prevent duplicate records?
The app tracks source record IDs, saved transfer intent, and destination results. Uncertain submissions wait for reconciliation. Your start date, existing manual imports, and destination records still need careful review.
Can I disconnect an account?
Yes. Use the connection controls in your private workspace to stop the connection and pause automated processing. Disconnecting does not erase existing donations, saved mappings, or transfer history. See the disconnect guide for details.
LET’S MAKE THE CONNECTION
More clarity.
Less re-entry.
