Your organization’s giving information is used to provide the connection you authorize. It is not a source of advertising audiences or data for sale.
Who we are and what this policy covers
Giving Bridge is operated by Martin Tech Consulting (“Giving Bridge,” “we,” or “us”). This policy covers our public pages at www.givingbridge.net, the Giving Bridge private workspace, and support communications about the service.
Giving Bridge helps an authorized organization connect Planning Center Giving and QuickBooks Online. Organizations decide which accounts to connect, which donors and funds to match, which records to transfer, and whether to activate automation. We process connected-account information to carry out those instructions and operate the service.
Giving Bridge is independent of Intuit and Planning Center. We do not collect or process your information on Intuit’s behalf. Each provider’s own services, sign-in pages, and privacy practices are governed by that provider’s policies.
Information we handle
The information available to the service depends on the accounts, permissions, and records an authorized organization provides.
| Category | Examples and purpose |
|---|---|
| Workspace and account information | Name, email address, sign-in identifier, organization name, workspace membership, role, and preferences used for access and administration. |
| Donor and customer information | Provider record IDs, names, and available email, phone, and address details used to identify and confirm donor matches. |
| Giving and accounting records | Donation or transaction IDs, dates, amounts, currency, fund or item allocations, payment methods, check references, relevant invoice information, and account or payment-source selections. |
| Connection information | Organization or company identifiers, app configuration, authorization tokens, token-expiration details, and personal-access-token credentials where that connection method is supported. |
| Transfer and operational records | Saved mappings, transfer status and intent, source and destination references, activity history, job results, and error details used for review, reconciliation, support, and security. |
| Website and support information | Information you send to support and technical request information such as IP address, browser or device information, request URLs, timestamps, and response or error records that hosting providers may generate. |
Connected information may be received directly from Planning Center or Intuit after authorization, or from a file an authorized workspace user chooses to import. A donation import may include multiple donors whose records the organization is responsible for handling lawfully.
Giving Bridge does not collect donor payments. It does not ask donors to enter card numbers, bank-login credentials, or passwords. Provider sign-in passwords are handled on the provider’s sign-in pages, not through Giving Bridge’s connection form.
How we use information
We use information only for purposes consistent with the authorized service and this policy:
- Provide sign-in, workspace access, and account connections.
- Read eligible records, display donor and accounting directories, and apply mappings confirmed by authorized users.
- Prepare, submit, verify, or reconcile authorized donation transfers and exports.
- Maintain a record of activity and help detect duplicate, changed, or uncertain transfers.
- Provide support, troubleshoot problems, protect the service, and comply with applicable legal obligations.
We do not sell or rent donor or accounting information, use it for behavioral advertising, or share it for an unrelated purpose. Giving Bridge does not include a generative-AI analysis or model-training feature for connected-account records.
The public website’s interactive donor-match example uses fictional records. It does not connect to your accounts, save an actual donor match, or send the example’s interactions to a server.
Your choices and requests
An authorized organization can choose whether to connect a provider, whether to scan or transfer records, and whether to activate available automation. It can disconnect the integration in the workspace and revoke access in the connected provider’s own settings.
Use the disconnect guide to stop a connection. Disconnecting pauses new automated processing and removes usable connection credentials from Giving Bridge. It does not undo a request already sent to a provider, erase records already created there, or automatically delete retained workspace records.
To request access, correction, an export, or deletion of information, email support@givingbridge.net. We may need to verify your identity and authority before acting. Rights and exceptions depend on applicable law and your relationship to the organization.
If you are a donor, your church or organization is normally the best first contact for its donation records and recordkeeping instructions. We can help identify the relevant request process when appropriate. We will not provide one person with another organization’s private records without authority.
Retention, disconnection, and deletion
While a workspace is authorized and active, we retain information as needed to provide its configured service, maintain relevant transfer evidence, and respond to the organization’s instructions. Withdrawal of authorization, termination, or closure ends permission for further access to and processing of the affected connected-account data for that service. The current pilot handles full offboarding through support, including stopping remaining access and use and determining any specific legally required recordkeeping.
Disconnecting an account stops the connection; it is not a request to erase the workspace. Donor and fund mappings, cached directory information, transfer history, and audit records can remain after the connection is disabled. Their presence does not authorize continued or unrelated use after authorization has been withdrawn. Contact support to complete closure or a deletion request.
Deletion requests are handled through support in the current pilot. After verifying a request and its scope, we will arrange secure deletion of the requested connected-account information, except where applicable law requires retention. We will explain any applicable legal recordkeeping limits and the handling of retained copies rather than treating a disconnected account as automatically deleted.
Our deletion review covers active workspace records, exports or support copies under our control, and Giving Bridge-controlled backups. Where a hosting provider’s backup process prevents immediate removal, we identify the outstanding copies and the available purge or expiry process, restrict their use, and explain the remaining work to the requester. We do not report all copies as deleted until that scope has been verified, and deleted records must not be put back into active use by a later restore.
Records intentionally written to the organization’s own Planning Center or QuickBooks account are independently controlled there. Deleting Giving Bridge’s copies does not reverse donations or erase those source or destination books.
How we protect information
The application uses controls such as authenticated access, workspace permissions, encrypted storage of provider credentials, and checks around sensitive actions. The service uses HTTPS connections to supported provider endpoints. We keep credentials out of public website files and do not return saved connection secrets in the normal workspace display.
These measures reduce risk but cannot guarantee that every incident, error, or unauthorized action will be prevented. Organizations should use strong account protection, limit access to appropriate people, and review source and destination records.
Report a suspected issue to support@givingbridge.net. Please do not include passwords, access tokens, complete payment-card details, or unnecessary donor information in an initial report.
Children and donor records
The service is intended for authorized adult administrators and staff. It is not directed to children and does not invite children to register. An organization’s donor records may relate to people of different ages; the organization must have authority to provide those records and instructions.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date above. Where a material change requires additional notice or consent under applicable law or provider requirements, we will obtain it before applying that change to the affected information.
